My name is Amy Klein. I have been teaching in Austin ISD since the fall of 1991, and this is my 28th year! I love being a teacher, and I have experience at many levels including 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I have also been a Special Education teacher. While I hold a certificate for teaching Gifted and Talented, I also added my ESL certification in 2012.
I started at Baldwin in the fall of 2016. Most recently, I taught at Clayton for 10 years. I have also taught at St. Elmo Elementary, Williams Elementary, and Kiker Elementary, all in AISD. I received my degrees at Texas State University. My Bachelor's is in Elementary Education. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Administration. I love learning!
I have two children. John Martin (a freshman at Texas State University) and, Brenna Martin (10th), at Bowie High School . When I'm not here at school, you'll find me with my kids, my super supportive and understanding husband, Jim, and my friends. My family is very important to me.
I love spending time with family and friends, touring Texas wineries, genealogy, traveling, taking pictures, gardening and being outside when the weather is cool. My favorite day offers a cloudless blue sky with a temperature of about 70! We don't get many of those perfect days, but you can bet that if we do, we'll find a way to learn outside!
I am so happy to have a new group of kiddos this year, and I look forward to a fantastic
year!
