This week in class, the students will be working in 3 smaller groups. One group will work with me, going over the writing benchmark. We will look at the objective portion and analyze the editing and revising question. In addition, we will look at the writing steps the kids showed on their benchmarks. We will do some revising and editing on those compositions as needed. The second group of kids will work on a word wall project we began last Friday. The third group will work on the newest assignment I posted on Google Classroom. My plan is to rotate these three groups during our three class days so that every child works on each assignment. The following week, the last week, will be dedicated to students completing all three of the assignments at their own pace. Some of these items, if not all of them, will be the first grades of the third nine weeks, as grades are due this week!
Since grades are due this week, it will be really important for missing work to get turned in as soon as possible so students' averages don't drop. This is especially important if your child has been absent, because those who were out last week will have work to make up and benchmarks to make up in addition to any new work that we do.
Klein's class only: In Social Studies we are continuing our study of the Spanish missions and their influence in Texas as we enter in to the Texas Revolution.
Have a great week, and don't forget to check the Upcoming Dates for any changes.
