We had a wonderful first week back for 2015-16! I love my kiddos...all 103 of them! I think I've almost got all the names learned. I'm no Dr. Robinett, but that many names in a week...I surprised myself. I have had fun getting to know the kids. It will take me a little while to truly know them all as writers, but I'm working on it. I will go over my philosophy a little at Back to School Night. I will also do my best to communicate with you through this website about the weekly goings-on in my classroom. Please check your child's agenda each night to see what we are doing during the week. If there is homework, I will have them circle it. Having said that, we truly do most of our work in class. I like to see the kids' process as they write. When we begin doing some writing on the Google Drive, they will be able to work at home and school very easily. I'm not sure when we will begin with that.
The kids are already really getting comfortable in our classroom. They are also getting to know Mrs. Burke and Mr. Fanelli, their other two classroom teachers. The three of us communicate frequently so we can support each others' curriculum. In addition, I plan with Mrs. Ebert for Social Studies and Mrs. Cole for Writing, so that we are better aligned across fourth grade.
On the right side of this webpage you'll see a button that will take you to the other teachers' websites. Since all five classes see me for writing, we thought this would make it easier for you to go to one location (mine) and click over to your child's other teachers' pages as needed.
It is my goal to update this webpage on Friday afternoons or Monday afternoons each week. Thanks for stopping by. Check back often.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Klein
