Good news! I got with the grade system powers-that-be and got them to switch the one LA grade that showed up as "double". This should have changed your child's overall average for the better! Not sure what happened there. I apologize for any confusion. Major projects may be scored as double, but as of now, I don't have anything planned that requires that weight.
This week we are finishing up our poetry writing in class. If we get to Wednesday, and your child has not finished in class, I will send it home for him/her to complete along with the directions they were given in class. We will continue our spiraling of all concepts taught in writing mechanics in our daily writing as well as incorporate new concepts from the TEKS this week.
We took a break from new Social Studies lessons, but will get back to it later this week.
In the computer lab today your child learned about how to use the Google Drive. This is an excellent way for him/her to do work anywhere that has an internet connected computer and never lose the work! I will type a specific letter with directions on how to access this for those of you who would like it. It's a lot like your parent access to the cloud, but without the need of an email address. It's easy, I promise. Look for that printed set of directions this week!
Don't forget this is a dress up week. Today was "groovy" day. Check your Clayton calendar for reminders of what each day will be. I believe tomorrow is "Hat" day.
