We made it through our soggy field trip and still had fun, and today was Engineer Day,, where the winning team's bridge held 95 washers! In the meantime, the kids have been working "fast and furious" on their Wax Museum components. Many students have turned in one or two projects already and worked on their buttons. If your child is ready to turn in one of the projects, please have him/her bring it and I will check those off. In addition, students have written and revised speeches, and they've practiced reading them to be sure they meet the 30-40 second time limit. Many have already memorized them! :)
Just a reminder...if your child received a progress report, he or she still has time to make corrections to low-graded assignments and return them for regrading. If those assignments are lost or missing, I suggest the extra credit extension that has been up on this website for a few weeks. Either of those options will help. Most grades are in. I have not graded or entered any wax museum assignments yet. That won't happen until next week, as all projects for the wax museum are due next Wednesday.
Once the wax museum is complete, we will use the remainder of the time to see how far into the 20th century we can learn about Texas. In writing we will finish our Fairy Tales, work on a "Would You Rather" writing, and do some reflections of 4th grade activities.
Please check the Upcoming Dates page for any updates! Thanks so much!
