Though the temperatures don't prove it, we are fully into fall! Hopefully soon, we will all enjoy some cool, refreshing days. In the meantime, we are working full force here in fourth grade. Last week we continued our research and planning for our Texas regions brochure. All the information gathering has been done in multiple class times. In writing, some of the time is dedicated to working on the creation of the brochures as well. Some students have moved on to their final drafts, which means I've corrected their spelling, made suggestions and comments, given them the final copy paper, and helped them arrange for size and space. We have gone over the grading rubric multiple times, and all students have a copy of it, along with the directions. THIS FRIDAY, all brochures will go home for completion. If students used their time wisely during class, they should be down to the coloring and final touches by Friday. All brochures are due Tuesday, September 30. Last week, we also took a day to look at the importance of the Constitution written over 200 years ago! Students saw a short video, engaged in discussions, and analyzed the difficult vocabulary in the Preamble. Then we discussed the importance of those words today. In writing, we are finishing up our rough drafts of our first personal narratives. We will begin revising and editing, after our lesson on the two, on Wednesday. I hope you all have a great week! Don't forget picture day, on Thursday!! | |
