This week in Language Arts, students will learn about biographies. Last week we learned about literary nonfiction, which include biographies that are written as stories. We will be comparing the two formats. We have various stations that students will visit this week as they read and analyze biographies. While working in stations, students will work with me in small groups on vocabulary, fluency, word analysis, and comprehension using a variety of books.
In Social Studies, students will finish note-taking on Texas regions and we will explore the branches of government. This should be a review of what they learned last year, but we go a step further and compare the U.S. government to the Texas state government. The next topic we will cover is Texas exploration.
Homework this week includes 20 minutes or more of reading each night and asking a parent to sign the agenda each night. Extra practice is always welcome and appreciated. Please see the links at the top of this page.
Have a great week!
