Sorry for my delay in updating this. I was out yesterday due to a prior commitment in Houston. I was honored to take part in the HAPS benefit on Sunday. HAPS is the Houston Area Parkinson's Society. I am passionate about their work as my father died from Parkinson's Disease a few years ago. Mrs. Stephens said the class was just great yesterday.
Today was a difficult day for sure. The counselors and administration really supported teachers and students today as we all processed the sad news we were given about Bill Crowley. This is a devastating loss for his family and our community. Please know that your kids are in good hands, and we are ready to help them in the event that they need special attention in dealing with this. Thank you for reaching out to us today.
Now that the Writing STAAR is over, the same instructors that helped us by pulling small groups to go over specific skills that would help students navigate the objective portion of the test are now going to help with reading. This is really a great opportunity for some kiddos to get small group review/instruction on comprehension skills and test taking strategies.
Tomorrow is our field trip and Thursday is our only real instruction day this week, as Friday is a student holiday. Though I am trying to keep everything "business as usual" as much as possible, the rest of this week will be relatively low key. I hope that you are able to spend some time with your family this Easter weekend.
